Special Issue Information:
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to submit your article from the New Jersey Offshore Wind Power Technology Conference and Exhibition 2023 to this Special Issue, entitled “Latest Developments in Offshore Wind Power Technology in the United States“, in the open-access journal Energies (IF 3.252).
The New Jersey Offshore Wind Power Technology Conference and Exhibition 2023 will be held on 4 – 7 December 2023 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, in Newark, New Jersey. This Conference includes various topics on offshore wind power technology including operation and maintenance, condition monitoring, civil and mechanical infrastructures, control, wind turbine design, power systems dynamics, wind energy forecasting, planning, system integration and market participation, aerodynamics, industrial standards (IEEE, IEC) for HVDC transmission (standard track), workforce training, and socio-economic impacts of offshore wind power. The goal of the Conference is to serve as an annual event for gathering scholars from the universities, colleague from government, and engineers from industry related to the offshore wind power in New Jersey to have interaction, networking, and establish collaboration. It aims to provide an occasion in which individuals can find collaborators and meet experts on the fundaments, applications, and products of offshore wind power.
The submission deadline is 31 March 2024.

The number of articles published by the guest editor (GE) in the special issue: less than 20% of the total number of articles published in the special issue. If there is a need for publication, GE's additional contributions can be submitted as regular articles for publication, and the discount can still be retained.

Requirements for submission of the special issue of the conference: meet the standard of research paper; expand by 50% on the basis of the conference paper.

To enjoy the APC of USD 800, the author must come from a school/research institution rather than a commercial organization/company.

Responsibilities of GE

Submission Invitation:

Papers from conference attendees: committee members/participants can be invited to contribute to the special issue or to send basic information about the paper to the Editorial Office in advance (authors/title/abstract…)

Regular invitations outside the conference: maintain the original APC 2200 CHF

Promotion: Promote the special issue on the website of the conference/Social Media and other channels to increase visibility

Make decisions (except for articles that there is conflict of interests between GEs and authors):

Make the pre-check decision before peer review

Make final decision based on the review reports received
Publication of the Conference papers in the Journal IEEE Magnetics Letters (IF=1.5)
Authors with abstracts accepted and presented in the conference can submit a five-page (maximum) paper, whether contributed or invited, for publication in IEEE Magnetics Letters (IML) until 31 March 2024 (11:59pm, EST USA). The paper should be a research article containing mostly new results, as is appropriate for a letters journal.
Journal Information:
The regular editors will manage the review process. If your article is accepted, it will be published on-line, in preprint form, immediately after full peer review and your revisions. Several weeks later, it will appear as fully edited and typeset. Each paper will have its own article number and its own dates of submission and publication. IML is known for providing authors with helpful reviews, excellent copy editing of language, careful preparation of reference lists, and short times from submission to publication.

Accepted articles will have a footnote, "New Jersey Offshore Wind Technology Conference, Newark, NJ, USA, 6-7 December 2023." Except for the footnote, the format of your article will be indistinguishable from that of any other IML article. It will not be part of a conference proceedings. There is no charge for regular publication; open-access publication is available for a charge.

At their option, accepted authors may publish their conference videos along with their papers in IML. As an example from another IEEE journal, please see https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9248636. Simply include your video as a supplemental file when you upload your final, accepted manuscript. The IML editor who managed the reviews of your paper will check your video for appropriateness.

One of the steps in the IEEE electronic copyright form says, "Indicate whether IEEE has permission to use video and audio recordings of your conference presentation." This does not transfer copyright of your video to IEEE; it simply allows IEEE to post your video.
